Hi and Shabbat Shalom!

Not too much is happening here in San Diego...
It's been a lazy summer...fun with grandkids...various visitors and all that stuff...Mazal Tov to Jennifer (pickle) Berton and family on the birth of her son and to the Gendelmans (Barry and Joel's folks) on their 50th wedding anniversary!
Hope all is well with you all!

Thanks Eemah for getting us your new address.

Hope all is well with you and everyone in your family, and you are enjoying Summer.

We have some exciting news:  Andrew Berton Handler came into our lives on July 29th, 2006, at 12:46pm, 7lbs. 14 ounces, 20 inches, and naturally we are all completely overjoyed at the miracle of life once again in our household.

Aside from sleep deprivation, we are all doing well, especiallly big sister Alexis (almost 7) and Charles (4 1/2) whom can't wait to hold and kiss their brother Andrew, every chance they get!  Oopss...I hear the baby crying, gotta run...

I'll be in touch,

Love,
Jennifer (pickle) B.H.

I really miss those camp days.  We have a URJ camp here in Texas.  It’s excellent, but the beauty of California is missing in the Texas planes. It’s also hot as hell here.

My favorite line for a camp song was “I am the wagon master, they call me master Bates.”  How we got away with this – I will never know.

Love to everyone!

Steve (Rabbi Steve Gross)

Eemah,

I read this and had to laugh.  My favorite line from camp and I still sing it often was from this same night.

“Hi My name is Buffy and I’m a Buffalo.  Some people think I’m horny, oh, wouldn’t they like to know.”

Can you please let Steve know that it must have been a great night to remember those from so long ago!

Much love,

Amy Rosenberg

Dear Helene and David,

You are fantastic to collate all the news of your charges over these past 30 (or more ...) years.

Great to learn that Steve Gross has his own congregation. If you have his new site, please forward it to me.

Incidentally, I was honored to have officiated at the Leeds/Small wedding with Arlene last Saturday night. Nachas goes around!

Have a wonderful summer and enjoy your family.

Love from Marcie and me,

Shelly

Hugs to everyone,

Thank you Eemah!  Would love to see you too.  If you are ever in the Del Cerro, please feel free to come by as we've not gotten out of the house quite yet.  In the meantime, hello to all of your family and thanks again for your nice wishes.
Love,
Pickle
p.s. thanks for telling Cathy Kamin, a while back, about me and my possibly teaching again (something I will look forward too once we move out the diaper stage in a few years)
Hello everybody!

Mark and I have completed another move- we are now in
Silver Spring, MD.

We've decided that Alaska was a worthwile adventure,
but we are glad that it was only for one year.  Our
Alaskan cruise on the way out of the Alaska was
wonderful- very relaxing and beautiful, and our trip
to Vancouver, Banff and Lk Louise was as beautiful as
everyone had described.

We are now in Silver Spring, MD.  We've spent the last
week unpacking, and still have plenty to do.  We've
done more shopping this week than I care to do in a
lifetime!  It'll be nice to have most things done
before starting work again.

Vacation is good.  We've already spent a good amount
of time with our friends here, which is wonderful.
We've met many of our neighbors who all seem very
nice.  We were invited to a party next door and to
dinner tonight at another neighbors.  Lots of kids and
dogs, and people seem to be outside quite a bit.  It's
been warm and somewhat humid (raining now, and we've
had 2 lightning/thunder storms :0).

I start work in about a week and Mark will go back to
Alaska to work for the month of July, then will be
back here in August to start work.

I'm sure we will be very busy, but we look forward to
any and all visitors!!!  Anyone in the area, we look
forward to seeing you soon.

Love,
Becky (Barth) and Mark
